The Adventures of Dan and Dovee in Italy is a fun-filled adventure story that is geared to the younger child. Dan, an adventurous little boy, and Dovee, an adventurous and demanding little duck, have many magical surprises and adventures when they travel to different regions and cities in Italy in search of some very exciting treasures.

Linda Jaworski has always wanted to write and illustrate children’s books. She began drawing at an early age and could often be found drawing ducks under her grandmother’s dining room table. Why ducks and why under the table not on the table, who knows, but she has continued drawing and painting throughout the years. She absolutely loves travelling. She resides in Calgary, Alberta.
MARILYN SMANDO – Author
Marilyn Smando is a mother of three grown children, two girls and one boy. She is the proud grandmother to two grandchildren. She currently lives in Calgary, Alberta. She has travelled the world. She loves animals and was a cowgirl and bred dogs. Her passion is nature, creativity and spirituality. She loves yoga, hiking, sailing, kayaking and swimming.
There doesn’t seem to be many travel oriented books out there that are geared to younger children. We love travelling and thought combining the adventure and travelling would make for a good combination. It is unique in the sense that it is intended for the younger child (approx. 3 – 5 years old). Other travel related books seem to be for an older child and more touristy books, that contain more facts that younger children wouldn’t relate to or be interested in at their young age. It is more of a fun travel adventure book! So while the older siblings may be checking their travel books or their devices for more information on the Italian sites to see, the younger child will have their adventure book taking place in Italy illustrating a number of the Italian sites to see.
